Dornier Do 215 Fliegender Bleistift - Flying Pencil . These aircraft are used for light bombers , aerial reconnaissance , and then , the night hunter . At first he made by Dornier firm for export , but then the whole production ( except only two pieces only ! ) Devoted to the Luftwaffe . Like its predecessor Do 17 , Do 215 also inherited the nickname " Flying Pencil " because of her slender body . The aircraft is then gradually replaced by the Do 217 . Luftwaffe Do 215 initially operate in the interests of long-range reconnaissance and bombing .
